Daikin Fluorochemicals
80-Year History and Evolution

In 1933, Daikin Industries became the first Japanese company to research fluorocarbon refrigerants (fluorochemicals). Leveraging its more than 80 years of experience in fluorochemicals, Daikin began sale of DAI-EL in 1970 and now has acquired nearly half a century of sales experience. Starting with results in industrial applications centered mainly in the automotive field, Daikin has continued to refine DAI-El by responding to customer needs for development of material with suppleness in tactile sensation.
