Catheter and Guide wire

guidewire2.jpg

Fluoro materials improve the operability of the catheter and guide wire. The guide wire is coated with fluoro paint, which improves the sliding operation, and fluoropolymer tubes are used for the innermost layer of the catheter.

Catheter inner tube

Required characteristics

- Flexibility

- Lubricity

- Molding processability

Daikin Solutions

Small-bore catheters require low sliding friction when the inner surface contacts the guide wire and mechanical flexibility. Daikin’s Fluoropolymer POLYFLON PTFE satisfies these requirements when used for the inner tube of the catheter.

Guide wire surface coatings

Required characteristics

- Lubricity

- Coating adhesion

Daikin Solutions

Fluoro coatings improve surface characteristics of the guide wire, allowing good sliding properties when a fluoropolymer is used for the inner tube of the catheter.
