Fingerprint fouling occurs when touching a surface leaves behind a residue of sebum from the skin. The treated surface retains less sebum from the fingertip as it forms a durable bond to glass surfaces compared to the non-treated surface. This property is particularly active on glass and surfaces coated with SiO.
